Thailand’s Highlights West to East  for Wheelchair Travellers

Day 1: Arrival – Bangkok (-/-/D)

Arrive in Bangkok and check in to the Ramada Plaza Hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Bangkok - City Tour (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and nearby historical exhibition. In the afternoon visit the Grand Place. Dinner and overnight at the Ramada Plaza.


Day 3: Bangkok – Kanchanaburi (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to the famous Mae Klong Railway Market in Samut Songkram Province.  Visit Damnoen Care Resort and then set off for Kanchanaburi Province. Visit the Bridge Over the River Kwai and then drive to a local resort for dinner and overnight.

Day 4:  Kanchanaburi (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Elephant’s World to spend some quality time with the elephants at this sanctuary for retired elephants. There is no riding, no circus tricks, just a caring environment for these magnificent animals. Learn how they are taken care of and about their complex social structure. Have lunch at the sanctuary and midafternoon return to the resort.

Day 5: Kanchanaburi – Ayutthaya (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Ayutthaya and visit the village of Baan Bang Mae Mai, where you can learn about and try yourself some of the local handicrafts. Also take a tractor ride around the village and then have lunch with some of the local people. Continue by road to Ayutthaya and check into your hotel and have some time at leisure. Afterwards enjoy an invigorating massage given by local blind people. Enjoy dinner at a riverside restaurant. Overnight at the Vassana Hotel in Ayutthaya.

Day 6: Ayutthaya highlights (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit some of the highlights of Ayutthaya, including Wat Chai Mongkon, the Japanese Village and cruise around the historic island on a converted teak rice barge while you enjoy a lunch of authentic Thai cuisine.  In the afternoon visit the Ban Kong Por Sufficiency Economy Learning Centre where the principles of a sufficiency economy, as encouraged by the late King Rama IX, have been put into practice and serve as an example for farmers throughout Thailand. Return to Ayutthaya and in the evening experience some of the best of Ayutthaya’s street food at a local market.

Day 7: Ayutthaya – Sattahip (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Sattahip and check in to local accommodation. After lunch time to relax on the unspoilt beach and go swimming.


Day 8:  Rayong local life (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Rayong to visit a local fishing village. Return to Sattahip and in the evening and enjoy a farewell BBQ on the beach.

Day 9: Sattahip – Bangkok (B/L/-)

After breakfast, drive back to Bangkok with stops along the way for shopping. Arrive Bangkok and drop off at the airport for your flight home. End of services.
