The Story of Accessible Tours in Thailand

While exhibiting at a travel trade fair in London in 2016, Nutty’s Adventures met the UK-based company, Seable Accessible Active Holidays, which specialises in arranging overseas holidays for the blind and partially sighted. Until that time all their trips had been within Europe but seeing the type of tours offered by Nutty’s and understanding the philosophy behind them, the idea of a more adventurous trip to Thailand emerged.

Plans were made, survey trips undertaken and towards the end of 2017 an 11-day tour to North and South Thailand was finalised and on the market.

In February of 2018, Nutty’s Adventures, in conjunction with Seable Holidays, conducted Thailand’s first group tour, for 12 blind and partially sighted participants with 4 seeing helpers. The tour was a great success and a wonderful and rewarding experience for the participants and for the company. It proved that with careful planning and hard work, Thailand can become a successful tourism destination for all people, regardless of any disability.
